I do enjoy all the posted lecture because I am a student of psychology at the age of 65. However, I would appreciate it if the good professor could give us something on personality.

Thanks

Dr. Paul Bloom:
Veru glad to write to you.
I'm so sorry, because i will waste of your time.
I'm a Chinese,I like Psychology, and I like to study English. In today's world, English has become a very common and important tool for the exchange and communication.I want a good command of English, use it to learn more of my favorite things, such as your psychology.
Two years ago, I was born a very serious illness .In 2008 year, my mind opened the knife, in 2009, they opened the knife back and spine, and now I, at home training, but not entirely self-cultivation, I study accounting in the art that I hope that it will be relying on to life.
Now, I want to learn English, can not be suspended for one day, do not read the subtitles and listen to your lesson, I hope you do not have translation software to write to you.
Finally, I want to get psychological PPT courseware, do not know if you can send it to me, if possible, so thankful.
Thank you
Yours Samuel

Comment19 Jayne Davis, October 7, 2012 at 7:19 p.m.:

Dear Proffessor Bloom
I'm an Australian & I've downloaded your lectures from iTunes U.
In the first lecture you say you posted the slides from the class on the Yale site.
Thus far I've been unable to find them (is there some form of "restricted access"? In play?).
Could you (or one of your T.A.'s) please email me to let me know how to find them?
I really feel that I'm missing out on an important aspect of the lecture experience.
Thank you for your time.
P.S. I'm half way through the 2nd lecture & I'm a dualist. I have a theory that MAY explain the interaction between the non-corporeal aspect (the "soul") & the body.
It has to do with each person's bio-electric field having a unique signature. What if our souls exist not "within" our bodies but in some as- yet unknown dimension that interacts with with the 4 we're able to perceive?
We know that speed of thought correlates to electrical activity in the brain & that all matter is held together by an electrical field that dictates the behaviour of the atoms that make up it's substance.
So, what if our sous use the unique electro-magnetic field generated by each individual brain & body to control our behaviour, like a kid with a remote-control car? Each remote & car are a matched set with the signal only getting through to the SPECIFIC car it drives. If you break the car but the remote remains intact, then the toy cannot function (this is the death analogy). Our brains may react to our thoughts (& vise/versa) according to the interactions of Hardware/Body, Software/Soul & Signal/electrical field. I have NO IDEA how one would go about testing this theory but the analogy can stretch to allow for re-incarnation by building a brand new car that responds to the old remote. Let me know what you think if you've got nothing better to do. Thanks.

Comment27 Hayley Lewis, July 22, 2014 at 9:42 p.m.:

There is a lecture where Mr Bloom is talking about personality disorders. He describes Borderline Personality as "Borderline is really bad, when people describe you as Borderline Personality Disorder that just means your awful to be around, your just awful". What a way to premote stigma. He should be fired for saying it, and Yale should be ashamed of themselves for publishing it. See http://youtu.be/Dys5fdGHlvw
This is an illness. Some of the greatest innovators are affected by this illness, ( for example Steve Jobs) it should be looked at with compassion, imagine mr Bloom hearing yourself described this way!, Imagine you son develops such an illness! How can Yale be so stupid?

Comment28 Anel, October 25, 2015 at 8:31 p.m.:

Dear professor Bloom,

I am delighted to wacth your videos... I am a Congolese (DRC)and I am doing my sef-study in Economic by watching American'couses such as Financial Theory and Market, Macro economic, Micro economic, Psychology, etc. Though I have been already graduated in economic (Bac 5) since 2016, but I want to improve again, even though I couldn't afford to pay the upper classes. As I am interested in humain behavior in the market or in society such in my country, I find your course really relevant in order to have an idea about how people trade off.

Finally, my gratitude to America people such as you guys for giving us this trumendous opportunity which I couldn't find out anywhere.

I like the methods Paul Bloom works with. He is not only a genius professor but a great person. I'm studying psychology and would like to learn about new ways of working and expand my horizons. On this source, I found an institution that I want to visit https://www.wellnessliving.com/club/g... I think this will be great not only for my professional skills but also for me personaly.
