Description

We will discuss the complex composition of bone from the materials scientist point of view and the efforts done so far to mimic the bone and synthesise the materials in the laboratory. The presentation will include both, the info from literature and the research results from the lab a tthe Institute of General Chemical Engineering, Riga Technical University, mainly focusing on calcium phosphates, composites. At the very beginning, the role our laboratory in FLAMIN-GO project will be presented.

Prof. Janis Locs is director of Institute of General Chemical Engineering at Riga Technical University and leading researcher at the Rudolfs Cimdins Riga Biomaterials Innovations and Development Centre. Webinar within the Flamin-go project.
