Normalnost in norost nista dva objektivna ali sama po sebi obstoječa pojava, ampak sta rezultat procesov socialne konstrukcije. Razumevanje normalnosti in norosti kot dveh nasprotnih pojavov ali polov pomenijo zanikanje kompleksnosti človeške izkušnje in omejevanje človeškega nasploh.
