Slovnici za osnovne in srednje šole, Kratkoslovnica in Slovnica na kvadrat, ter spletni portal Fran: slovarji Inštituta za slovenski jezik Frana Ramovša ZRC SAZU predstavljajo poskus, kako približati znanstveno delo vsakdanjim potrebam tistih, ki jih jezik zanima kar tako. Kako zahtevno delo je iskati preprosto predstavitev kompleksnih vprašanj? Kako hkrati zadovoljiti pričakovanja znanstvenikov in splošnih uporabnikov? Kako lahko pogled v zgodovino koristi pogledu v prihodnost?
